after the act

A day to confront a night of regret.

Over a single day and night, a trio of friends within Berlin's bohemian community attempt to deal with the fallout from a revelation of infidelity, which leads to insensitive choices they can't retract, but instead must learn to accept.

After the Act is our fifth improvised feature film in as many years. This story grew out of a Life Improvised short called Goose & Gander, which we filmed in 2021 in Zagreb, Croatia. Goose & Gander focuses on a young couple questioning the meaning of love and intimacy after infidelity rocks their relationship.

The short ended abruptly and we asked ourselves, 'what would happen next?' Eventually this led to the outline for After the Act.

We drove from Zagreb to Berlin and shot After the Act over four days in August and September 2023 with an international cast based in Europe, but from all over the world, including South America and the United States. Our crew was equally diverse, making for a vibrant working environment.

In summer 2024 we returned to Berlin to shoot two more days and complete the production. The result was an incredible experience on set, powerful performances transpired and we had solid footage, so we could not be more happy with the result.

We’re currently at post production with After the Act but stay tuned for more news late 2024.
